What a lovely treat to find myself in great company, sitting second row centre at the Northcote Theatre for Ricki Lee Jones… the generous offer of a ticket came completely out of the blue (thanks Waz) and the performance was incredible… from the get-go she was completely spontaneous, picking random songs off a written shortlist, which kept her band on their toes. As someone said afterwards, “I felt like we were on stage with just her and the band… just kinda eavesdropping in on the conversations”…
